In the medium term, the electricity grid will likely be comprised of a number of technologies for the stabilisation of supply versus demand. Part of the diversity of possible solutions are proposals such as the one in the video: a tower of concrete blocks using excess electricity to store gravitational potential energy which can be released as electricity when required. While cost projections are promising, as with almost all systems, there are challenges such as stability when there is a lot of wind, aesthetics, and round trip efficiency.

There are likely contexts where such a solution will fill the need.

May 2025 – Health Today News — Knee replacement surgery, once considered a last resort, has become a common and highly effective solution for individuals suffering from severe joint damage. With advancements in medical technology, surgical techniques, and recovery protocols, knee replacement is transforming lives—restoring mobility, reducing chronic pain, and enabling patients to return to active lifestyles.

Why Knee Replacement Is on the Rise

Knee problems affect millions globally, primarily due to osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, injury, or age-related wear and tear. As life expectancy increases and more people remain active later in life, the demand for knee replacements continues to grow.

In the U.S. alone, over 800,000 knee replacement procedures are performed annually—a number expected to climb significantly over the next decade.
